CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AT THE EDGE OF THE ARCTIC
Hailing from the Arctic city of Bodø, the club’s rise has been nothing short of extraordinary.
From playing in Norway’s second tier in 2017 to winning four of the last five Eliteserien titles and reaching the Europa League semi-finals, Bodø/Glimt has defied expectations and redefined what’s possible for small-market clubs.
Their home ground, Aspmyra Stadion, located just north of the Arctic Circle, presents a unique challenge for visiting teams with harsh weather, artificial turf, and a fiercely passionate local fanbase. But Bodø/Glimt’s success isn’t just about football. It’s also about purpose.
Since 2019, the club has championed Action Now, a sustainability initiative rooted in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Winter
Long polar nights bring a magical atmosphere, where the northern lights often dance across the sky. The dark season invites cozy evenings indoors, while skiing, snowshoeing, and other winter activities make the outdoors just as inviting.
The truth about the four Arctic seasons
Spring
As the sun returns and the days grow longer, nature wakes up and outdoor life blossoms. Locals enjoy hiking, fishing, and spending time outside, celebrating the bright season of renewal.
Summer
Bodø basks in endless daylight under the midnight sun. Bright nights set the stage for music festivals, lively gatherings, and unforgettable adventures in nature, from mountain hikes to kayaking among the islands.
Autumn
Crisp air and vibrant colors transform the landscape, while the sea shows its powerful side with dramatic storms. It’s a season of contrasts, perfect for enjoying cosy cafés, cultural events, and the beauty of nature’s changing palette.
